The Hachiya and Fuyus persimmons are not to be mistaken with each other. The Hachiya persimmons are elongated in shape, as they resemble Roma tomatoes; unlike the flat-bottomed Fuyus. Please consume only after fruit fully ripens. Hachiya persimmon will be very stringent if consume prematurely. It has a goldnen brownish flesh which often gets confused for rotten fruit, when it turns this color and are soft to the touch, they are ready to consume. We recommend enjoying this warm, delightful fall treat with a spoon.
