Here's how our delivery process works:
-
Refrigerated Transport:
The fresh, nutrient-rich fruit boxes are carefully packed at our facility in the Bay Area and loaded onto a refrigerated truck. This ensures that the produce stays fresh and ready to eat during transit. -
Arrival in Los Angeles:
The truck delivers the fruit boxes to the Downtown LA Produce Terminal, a central hub for produce distribution in the region. -
Volunteer Coordination:
At the terminal, a team of dedicated volunteers steps in to distribute the fruit boxes across Los Angeles. These volunteers are the heart of our operation, ensuring the boxes get to their final destinations. -
Redistribution to Impacted Communities:
The fruit boxes are delivered to:
- Shelters housing families displaced by the fires
- Evaluation and donation centers
- Fire departments supporting first responders
- Churches and schools serving as community aid hubs
- Communities directly affected by the wildfires
This seamless delivery chain ensures that every Donation Fruit Box reaches its destination quickly and in perfect condition, providing critical support to those in need.
With the help of our partners and volunteers, we’re making a real difference in the lives of families and first responders affected by the Los Angeles fires.
